(VOVWORLD) -500 dance artists from nine countries are gathering at the International Dance Festival 2024 which opened in Thua Thien-Hue province on Saturday.

The six-day festival bring together artists from 17 art troupes of Laos, the Philippines, China, India, Indonesia, Cambodia, Malaysia, the United Arab Emirates, and the host Vietnam.
Addressing the opening ceremony, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Ta Quang Dong said the event, held every three years, is to promote cooperation in culture and arts between Vietnam and countries around the world.
It also provides Vietnam with opportunities to introduce and promote the value of Vietnamese dance art to international friends. Art managers and dance artists are expected to exchange experiences in artistic creation.
The festival will run through Thursday.
