(VOVWORLD) - Pasaxon, the official organ of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party Central Committee, published an article on Monday celebrating the 80th anniversary of Vietnam’s August Revolution (August 19), hailing its success as a driving force for national development ever since.
Pasaxon emphasized that the victory of the August Revolution has motived Vietnam’s achievements in national construction and development, demonstrating the correct implementation of the Party’s guidelines, and the wise leadership and strategic vision of the Party and President Ho Chi Minh.
The success of the August Revolution affirmed the strength of national unity, and demonstrated the solidarity, resilience, and aspirations of the nation under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam.

In an interview with VOV’s correspondent in Beijing, Mr. Zhang Jianguo, Secretary General of the Charhar Institute, a prominent Chinese think tank, said that in 80 years of independence, Vietnam has gained remarkable accomplishments and made valuable contributions to global socialism.
“Vietnam has made tremendous progress in economic development, improving people’s livelihoods and education, and reducing poverty. Vietnam’s international position has been greatly elevated. I believe Vietnam’s development benefits not only the Vietnamese people but also all the peoples of Asia and the world. Vietnam’s development has also made a major contribution to global peace and development,” Mr. Zhang Jianguo said.
On this occasion, Fredesmán Turró González, former Cuban Ambassador to Vietnam and Vice President of the Cuba-Vietnam Friendship Association, said that 80 years of national construction and defense, Vietnam has made it an important factor in global politics, admired and respected by the international community. He called the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam the key to all the Vietnamese people's success in defending the nation and developing economically.
Professor Dr. Michael Brie, a German philosopher and social scientist, said Vietnam’s August Revolution was a “beacon of hope” for those resisting imperialism worldwide. He said Vietnam’s achievements over the past 80 years show the enduring strength of the Vietnamese people, their commitment to sustainable development, and the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam.
