International media lauds victory of Vietnamese women’s football team
(VOVWORLD) - The Asian media congratulated the Vietnamese women’s football team for winning, for the first time, a ticket to the Women’s World Cup, and praised the outstanding effort of the players.

An article posted on outlookindia.com said the Vietnamese team made history by securing a place in the 2023 Women’s World Cup in Australia and New Zealand by defeating Chinese Taipei 2-1 in playoff match in Mumbai, India.
The website sportstar.thehindu.com said that the qualification is a remarkable end to a difficult journey for the Vietnamese women’s football team, some of whom contracted COVID-19 after a training trip to Spain. They were able to survive a round in a formidable group that included Japan and the Republic of Korea.
The FIFA website said the Vietnamese team played an excellent match.
The official Twitter account of the Organizing Committee of the 2022 Asian Women’s Football Championship posted a video recording the moment of victory of the Vietnamese women’s squad and some of the many congratulations they received.
On the Twitter page of FIFA’s 2023 World Cup finals, the organizers posted a picture of captain Huynh Nhu with the greeting “Congratulations to Vietnam! For the first time in history they qualified for the Women’s FIFA World Cup. See you in 2023!”
