According to Mr. Chungong, Vietnam’s National Assembly has held key positions in the Union and its agencies, and worked actively for the IPU’s goals, including promoting peace and development, and protecting the rights of women and children. Mr. Chungong said the 132nd IPU Assembly in 2015 hosted by Vietnam, will be an important forum for legislators to discuss a post-2015 development strategy. The event will amplify the voices of Asian nations in IPU and provide an opportunity for Vietnam to demonstrate its progress in promoting democracy and parliamentary management.
