Iran builds 3000 advanced centrifuges

Iran is building 3000 advanced centrifuges for uranium enrichment. Fereydoun Abbasi-Davani, the Head of Iran's Atomic Energy Organization, confirmed this on Sunday, according to the Fars news agency. The machines will enable Iran to significantly speed up its uranium enrichment, which the West fears will be used to create nuclear weapons.

Iran has produced 208 kilograms of 20% enriched uranium, 110 kilograms of which has been used in materials production. Experts say 250 kilograms of 20% enriched uranium is needed for an atomic bomb. Iran has insisted that its nuclear program is for peaceful purposes only.
