(VOVWORLD) -Iran's mission to the United Nations on Tuesday rejected a CNN report that accused Iran of being involved in Donald Trump's attempted assassination, calling it "baseless" and "politically motivated."

CNN reported that in recent weeks the US had received intelligence information that Iran was seeking to respond to the US Air Force's killing of General Qassem Soleimani of Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) in Iraq in early 2020, when Donald Trump was the US President.
The Iranian mission to the UN said Trump must be prosecuted in a court of law for ordering the assassination of General Soleimani and Iran has chosen the legal path to bring him to justice.
