This is Tehran’s newest effort to prove the non-military nature of its nuclear program and show its open-minded attitude during the 16th NAM summit. “Such a visit is not customary in such meetings… However at the discretion of authorities, Iran would be ready for such a visit”, Akhounzadeh said. Iran’s offer was made three days after the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) at a meeting in Vienna last week asked the Islamic country to grant its inspectors access to Parchin . Iran has been hosting the NAM expert-level meeting, in the framework of the 16th NAM summit which ends on Friday, to elevate its diplomatic position at a time when it is isolated by the US and the West. Iran is under an economic embargo by the West, which wants it to end its nuclear program or open the program to outside inspection.
