Iran urges fair, constructive nuclear talks
(VOVworld) – Iran’s President Hassan Rouhani called on world powers on Tuesday for “fair, constructive” nuclear talks, asking them not to have “delusions” about military interventions on Tehran. Speaking at the televised 35th anniversary of the 1979 Islamic revolution, Rouhani committed to fair, constructive talks under international laws and expressed his hope for such willingness from the western negotiators in the coming talks. He suggested changing the way of negotiation because threats will just motivate Iranians to fight against the West. Rouhani went on to say that the West sanctions will no longer put pressure on Iran which has been dealing with them for 35 years.

A day earlier, Rouhani announced Iran’s willingness for serious talks with the P5+1 (including the UK, France, the US, Russia, China, and Germany) seeking a comprehensive deal on nuclear program based on a preliminary compromise reached last November in Geneva. Under the deal, Iran agreed to curb its nuclear program within 6 months in exchange for easing sanctions imposed by the West.
