Negotiations between Iran and the P5+1 (UK, China, Russia, France, US and Germany) will begin today in Kazakhstan. Iranian authorities on Monday reaffirmed that Iran will stop its 20% uranium enrichment only if the West removes sanctions against Iran. According to Press TV, Alaeddin Boroujerdi, Chairman of Iran’s National Security Committee said the West should not expect Iran to stop its high-level uranium enrichment if they do not remove sanctions and pressures against Iranians. Boroujerdi insisted that Iran has the right to enrich uranium, even at a higher rate, to provide electricity for ocean vessels, which requires up to 40 or 50% uranium enrichment.
