Iranian film wins big at HANIFF 2018

(VOVWORLD) - The Iranian film “The Dark Room”, directed by Rouhollah Hejazi, won for Best Feature-length Film at the 5th Hanoi International Film Festival (HANIFF) on Wednesday. The film addresses the problem of child sexual abuse and left the audience deeply moved.

The Best Short Film award went to “Su” (Water) by Aizhana Kassymbek of Kazakhstan. Nguyen Le Hoang Viet of Vietnam was named Best Young Short-film Director for the film “Ban cung phong” (Roommate), and Poland’s Piotr Domalewski, director of “Silent night,” was named Best Feature Film Director. 

This year’s festival featured 147 outstanding films from 50 countries and territories, including more than 40 films from Vietnam.
