(VOVworld) - IS claimed responsibility for all of the attacks in Syria on May 23 that killed 100 people and injured about 120 others.

IS said on its website that the coordinated explosions targeted the Shiites, who they called heretics, in Tartous and Jabla cities. The attacks were conducted at public places such as bus stations and libraries.
UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon criticized the bomb attacks and expressed deep concerns over military escalation in Damascus and other cities in Syria. He said the culprits must be punished.
