According to Syrian media, a Syrian army officer was killed in an Israeli air strike in southern Syria. In addition to human casualties, the airstrikes caused significant material damage to two military facilities.

Lebanese media outlets reported several Israeli airstrikes in the coastal town of Borgholiyeh, just north of Tyre. The airstrikes left at least one person dead and several others injured. It’s unclear, however, whether the target was Hezbollah forces or civilian facilities.

Hamas forces accused the Israeli army of conducting attacks with both infantry and air forces on Palestinian refugees’ areas, including the city of Rafah at the southern tip of Gaza. Hamas media confirmed that the attacks caused many civilian casualties but did not provide specific numbers.

A report released Wednesday by the UN Human Rights Office accused Israel of using massive explosives to attack the Gaza Strip, violating international law. The report specifically mentions six attacks using bombs weighing more than 900 kilograms (2,000 pounds) on apartment buildings, schools, refugee camps, and a market in Gaza late last year, killing 218 people.
