Israel pulls delegation from Qatar as Gaza truce talks stall

(VOVWORLD) - Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Thursday ordered the recall of the Israeli delegation from Qatar, citing a continued impasse in indirect negotiations with Hamas over a ceasefire and hostage release deal.

Israeli media quoted an unnamed official as saying Hamas “hasn’t responded to the American proposal that Israel accepted.” The official added that Israel’s delegation is ready to travel immediately to any location if Hamas agrees to the offer.
Just hours before the withdrawal was announced, Netanyahu said he would agree to end the conflict only under specific conditions: the return of all hostages, Hamas disarming and stepping down from power, its leadership going into exile, Gaza being fully demilitarized, and the implementation of US President Donald Trump’s plan to resettle Gazans outside the territory.
