(VOVworld) – Israeli  Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on Saturday that Israel will continue its military campaign against Hamas in the Gaza Strip if necessary, after Israeli army completes their demolition of Hamas’s border tunnel to Israel.

Speaking on the TV, Mr. Netanyahu said after finishing their mission of destroying the tunnels, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) will continue to act until security for Israeli people is assured. Mr. Netanyahu said measures to resume peace in Israel were taken into consideration, but destruction of Hamas’s tunnels was the first task. Spokesperson for Hamas movement Fawzi Barhum said Hamas will continue its war against Israel until it fulfills all the set targets.  The two sides made statements amidst increasing tension in Gaza Strip after the 72-hour cease fire mediated by the US and the United Nations broke down.
