(VOVworld) - Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's speech to the US Congress on Tuesday lasted for nearly one hour, criticizing Iran’s nuclear program. He called on the Congress to take specific actions to block the nuclear deal being negotiated between Iran and the P5+1 which includes the 5 permanent members of the UN Security Council: the US, the UK, France, Russia, and China, plus Germany. In his speech, the Israeli Prime Minister said Iran’s nuclear ambition threatens Israel and he accused Iran of supporting jihads and global terrorism. According to Netanyahu, an Iran with nuclear weapons will put an end to world peace, so the US, Israel, and the world need to stop this “nightmare”. Regarding the nuclear deal that the P5+1 is pursuing with Tehran, Netanyahu insisted that “this is a bad deal” and “it paves Iran’s path to the bomb”. President Obama said he doesn’t agree with Netanyahu’s accusations and that Netanyahu has said “nothing new” and "didn't offer any viable alternatives" to prevent Iran from obtaining a nuclear weapon.
