IUU fishing must end by November: PM
(VOVWORLD) - Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has ordered an end to illegal, unreported, and unregulated (IUU) fishing nationwide by November this year.

At a meeting on Tuesday with leaders of 21 coastal provinces and cities to discuss the fight against IUU fishing, the Prime Minister directed authorities to strictly monitor vessel operations, revoke licenses of violators, and rigorously control the origin of aquatic products.
He also called for stronger communication on IUU prevention and for all violations to be strictly punished in accordance with the law.
Mr. Chinh also set the October 5 deadline to end violations relating to Vessel Monitoring System (VMS) disconnections.
