Jade Buddha statue placed at Truc Lam pagoda in Paris

(VOVworld) – Truc Lam pagoda hosted a ceremony to place Jade Buddha Statue in the suburb of Paris on Thursday. The ceremony took place on February 8th in the lunar calendar which was the day when Buddha Gautama gave up the royal life as a prince and seek the path to eradicate misery for all. With the height of nearly 1 meter and weight of 270 kilos, Jade Buddha Statue is the biggest one in France and was presented by a Buddhist follower Dang Thi Bich Hoa. Vietnam Deputy Foreign Minister Nguyen Thanh Son said while attending the ceremony in Villebon dur Yvette city: "This event helps stimulate solidarity between Vietnamese people in the country with Vietnamese community in Paris. Truc Lam pagoda will be a convergence place for not only Overseas Vietnamese Buddhist followers in Paris but also many from other countries who come here to pray for peace and prosperity".
