At a Tuesday meeting with the Internal Affairs Committee of the Japanese House of Representatives, Mr. Abe said Japan will closely cooperate with the US to ensure peace and security on the Korean peninsula.

Russia is ready to accept the results of the Summit if the two sides make progress toward resolving nuclear issues and easing tensions on the Korean peninsula. The Russian President’s Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov said Tuesday that the international community has seen efforts to defuse tensions by both sides since the first DPRK-USA Summit in Singapore last June. Russian Security Council Secretary Nikolai Patrushev said there are reasons to be optimistic about rebuilding trust between Pyongyang and Washington.

China is hoping the 2nd DPRK-USA Summit in Hanoi will be a success, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lu Kang told reporters on Tuesday. He said every country around the world, including China, hopes the two countries will continue to make substantial progress on denuclearization, peace, and stability on the Korean peninsula.
