(VOVworld) – The Foreign Ministers from Japan, China, and South Korea plan to meet in Tokyo next week to lay the groundwork for a three-way summit Tokyo is set to host in September.

According to Japanese government sources, if the meeting takes place on August 23 or 24, it will be the first in Japan for 5 years. The talks are expected to serve as a springboard for a meeting between Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe and Chinese President Xi Jinping on the sidelines of a G20 summit next month in China.
