(VOVworld) – Various activities are taking place in Da Lat City to introduce Japanese people and culture to the local people as part of activities of the Japanese Culture Day program that opened on Tuesday.

The 5-day event will feature photo exhibits on Japanese dolls and world heritage sites, Ikebana - the Japanese art of flower arrangement-, and the screening of some well-known Japanese movies.

Nguyen Van Yen, Vice Chairman of the Lam Dong provincial People's Committee, said Japan has supported Lam Dong province in several projects like purifying Xuan Huong Lake, implementing community-based ecotourism, and building eco-friendly agricultural production model: "Japan has become a trusted strategic partner of Vietnam. Japanese Culture Day in Da Lat aims to enhance bilateral ties while introducing Da Lat’s landscape and people to Japanese visitors. The event is expected to improve mutual understanding among the cultural workers and businesses of the two countries, paving the way for a thriving cooperative relationship between Vietnam and Japan."
