(VOVWORLD) -The Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) on Friday presented a number of medical equipment to help the Hue Central Hospital respond to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The equipment include an extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) machine, a mobile digital X-ray machine, and a color Doppler ultrasound machine, which have a combined value of about 460,000 USD.
Professor Doctor Pham Nhu Hiep, Director of the Hue Central Hospital, said, "Our hospital will use the equipment effectively to respond to the COVID-19 pandemic and enhance the quality of its healthcare services. This gift will contribute to COVID-19 prevention and control in Vietnam."
Since 2004, the JICA has implemented many projects to support the Hue Central Hospital, including the one to upgrade the hospital’s infrastructure in 2006.
