Japan to help Ho Chi Minh City reduce carbon emissions

(VOVworld) - Japan will help Ho Chi Minh City reduce carbon emissions, says Japanese Senior Deputy Minister of Environment Kitagawa Tomokatsu. At a Wednesday reception for Mr. Tomokatsu, Nguyen Huu Tin, Vice Chairman of the municipal People’s Committee, thanked Japan, especially Osaka city, for helping Ho Chi Minh City deal with environmental issues. Tin expressed his hope for continued technology transfer from the Japanese ministry and Japanese localities.

Tomokatsu said the purpose of his visit is to strengthen cooperation in climate change, waste management, and enforcement of environmental law.
