Japan to provide more COVID-19 vaccines to Vietnam, Thailand and Taiwan (China)
(VOVWORLD) - The Japanese Government has decided to continue providing Vietnam, Thailand and Taiwan (China) with a total of 440,000 doses of AstraZeneca vaccine against COVID-19 in early September, said Foreign Minister Toshimitsu Motegi.

Motegi told a press conference on Friday that the decision was made after a comprehensive assessment of the COVID-19 situation in Vietnam, Thailand and Taiwan (China), including the number of new cases, the health system, and vaccination progress.
The Japanese government hopes that with this vaccine supply, both local people and Japanese people in need can have access to vaccine, helping to reduce the risk of contracting the virus, he said.
Japan donated approximately 3 million doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine to Vietnam, with shipments arriving in June and July.
