The Japan Restoration Party (JRP) is the second-largest opposition party in Japan after the Democratic Party of Japan (DPJ).

The party’s co-leaders Toru Hashimoto, Mayor of Osaka city, and Shintaro Ishihara, former Mayor of Tokyo, agreed to split the party, due to disagreements over its merger with the Unity Party, another opposition group. The two JRP leaders plan to form 2 new parties. The JRP name will be used by Hashimoto's new party.
