Joint Declaration of the 9th CLV Summit

(VOVworld) - The Prime Ministers of Cambodia, Laos, and Vietnam (CLV) signed a Joint Declaration at the end the 9th Summit of the CLV Development Triangle Area in Siem Reap, Cambodia, on Wednesday.

In the statement, the three leaders reiterated their commitments to the sustainable and inclusive development, reducing poverty and narrowing the economic and social gaps, and improving the quality of life for people living in the area.

They reaffirmed commitments to strengthen the relationship among CLV countries based on their traditional friendship, solidarity, comprehensive cooperation, and good neighborliness. The leaders also pledged to work closely with other ASEAN members to realize ASEAN Community Vision 2025.

They acknowledged progress and challenges in implementing the Revised Master Plan for socio-economic development of the area until 2020, and called for use of development potentials, resources, and technical and financial assistance from development partners and international institutions.

The next CLV Summit will be in Vietnam in 2018.
