Joint Declaration on CLV development triangle cooperation released

(VOVWORLD) - The Prime Ministers of Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia signed a Joint Declaration on the Cambodia-Laos-Vietnam (CLV) Development Triangle Area cooperation at the end of the CLV-10 Summit in Hanoi on Saturday.

They affirmed their commitment to further fostering the comprehensive cooperation between the three nations, contributing to building the CLV economies of integration, sustainable and prosperous development, and forming an indispensable part of the ASEAN Community Vision by 2025.

They emphasised the need to enhance connectivity among border provinces of the three economies to narrow development gaps among countries. They adopted a master plan on CLV connectivity by 2030, including major orientations to boost connections in infrastructure, institution and economy, and people-to-people exchanges.
They reiterated support for parliament and government’s exchange, dialogue, and collaboration and activities to facilitate cooperation among their businesses. They repeated the importance of ensuring security, safety, and a stable environment for investors, businesses, and people in the CLV.

The leaders pledged to increase cooperation in trade, investment, education, disease prevention and control, and environmental protection.

Lao will host the 11th CLV summit in 2020.
