(VOVworld) - An art exchange took place in Hanoi yesterday in response to April 4’s International Day for Mine Awareness and Assistance in Mine Action. Addressing the event, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Thien Nhan said that the Vietnamese Government has paid special attention to handling post-war bombs and mines. In addition to mobilizing domestic resources, Vietnam always appreciates and hopes to continue receiving support from the international community in clearing landmines and unexploded ordnance. Nguyen Thi Bich Lien was a participant at this year’s event. She expressed her emotion 'I was very moved by the personal stories of victims directly affected by post-war bombs and mines. Young people like me find it hard to imagine the tragic consequences of landmines and UXOs'.

A movement has been launched calling on people around the world to join hands to eliminate the bombs and mines left after the war by 2015.
