(VOVworld) – Cham ethnic people and religious dignitaries gathered at Kate festival, which opened on Friday in Binh Thuan province.

The festival pays homage to deities and wishes for favorable weather, bumper crops, and social harmony. Vo Hoang Tuyet Linh, Deputy Director of the Binh Thuan Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, is head of the organizing board: "This year, more Cham people from other districts are invited to the festival. We are calling on sponsors to give gifts to the Cham artists and dignitaries"

The highlight of the event was a procession of Po Sha Inu Goddess’s costumes. Thong Thi Beo, a member of the board of ceremonial performance, said: "As a Cham ethnic person, I go to the Po Sha Inu tower every year to help other Cham people prepare for the festival. Everyone here is happy regardless of age."
