Korea to support VN’s maritime police in personnel training

(VOVworld) - Defence Minister General Phung Quang Thanh says defence co-operation between Vietnam and the Republic of Korea has seen new developments over the past time.

Mr. Thanh made the statement at a reception in Hanoi on Friday for Senior Colonel Choi Sang Hwan, head of the Equipment and Technology Division under the Korean Maritime Police High Command. He added that Korea has made major contributions to Vietnam’s renewal process and economic development. He expressed his hope that in the future, the two maritime police forces will boost the exchange of high ranking delegations and among young officials.

Senior Colonel Choi pledged that the Korean Maritime Police will support its Vietnamese partner in the training of qualified personnel and capacity building to secure the national territorial waters.
