(VOVWORLD) - General Secretary of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party Central Committee and President of Laos Thongloun Sisoulith on Saturday sent a letter of congratulations to State President To Lam on his election as General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee.

In the letter, Mr. Sisoulith said the election to this important position reflects the trust and high appreciation that the Party, the State, and the people of Vietnam have in Mr. Lam’s capabilities, abundant experience, and outstanding achievements in the leadership and direction over the past time.
The Lao leader said he firmly believes that under the correct, sound, and wise leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam, headed by Mr. To Lam, the Vietnamese people will continue to achieve greater accomplishments in the cause of renewal and successfully implement the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress.
He affirms his commitment to stand side by side with leaders of the Vietnamese Party and State to continue strengthening the great friendship, special solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation between the two countries.
