(VOVworld) – Vientiane has finished preparations for the 35^th General Assembly of the ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly (AIPA).

Lao National Assembly Chairwoman Pany Yathortou told reporters in Vientiane on Tuesday that Laos has done everything it can to ensure the success of the event.

Vientiane has been decorated ahead of the 35th AIPA.

Called ‘Strengthening parliamentary cooperation among the ASEAN community’, this year’s event will discuss parliamentary cooperation to develop an ASEAN community of politics and security, sustainable green growth, narrowing the regional development gap, and measures to stop drug problems and the Ebola epidemic. 13 resolutions on the organizational apparatus will be debated. One of them is related to the establishment of AIPA Secretariat and the revision of an AIPA charter. Participants will also talk about parliamentary cooperation and relations among member countries and between member countries and observers.
