Ms. Mai, who is the Party Central Committee’s Organization Commission Chief asked Dien Bien to try harder to renew its poverty reduction policies to improve the living conditions of local people, especially those in remote mountain areas.

The same day, Chairman of the Government Committee for Religious Affairs Vu Hoai Bac offered Tet greetings to religious dignitaries and followers in Ho Chi Minh City. At the municipal office of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha, Mr. Bac asked Sangha chapters at all levels to work together to contribute to national development.

On Thursday, representatives of the High Command of the Air Force and Air Defense Force presented Tet gifts to policy beneficiaries in Quang Dien district, Thua Thien Hue province. Colonel Nguyen Van Cong, Head of the Air Defense Force’s Mass Mobilization Department, said: “We have presented more than 400 gifts and money to local policy beneficiaries and poor people to ensure a happy Tet for everyone.”

In Ho Chi Minh City, the Youth Union joined the Suntory PepsiCo Vietnam Beverage Company in organizing a music and art program to support disadvantaged workers affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
