Deputy Minister of Education and Training Nguyen Huu Do said Vietnam has 17,000 centers for continuing education at the provincial, district, and community level. The number of private continuing educational centers has increased rapidly, mostly IT and foreign language centers. Over the reviewed period, 8.4 million people attended continuing education centers.

Professor, Doctor Pham Tat Dong, Vice President of the Vietnam Association for Promoting Education, said, “The biggest achievement is to develop a learning society at the communal level. It’s a strategic step that only Vietnam has. Other countries build a learning society at the city level, but we do it at the grassroots level upward. The model has encouraged people to learn from primary level.”

Delegates discussed solutions to form an open, flexible educational system by 2030 so all people can have access to learning opportunities over a lifetime.
