Legislation Research Center reviews 5-year operation

(VOVworld)- The Legislation Research Institute of the National Assembly Standing Committee held a conference in Hanoi on Wednesday to review its operation over the past five years. The institute, which consists of several Vietnamese and foreign researchers, actively assists legislative activities.

It has expanded relations with foreign embassies and implemented cooperative agreements with the UN Development Program (UNDP), the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and the World Bank. Addressing the conference, Vietnam’s National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung praised the Institute’s achievements in researching theoretical and practical issues relating to the National Assembly’s organization and operations as well as helping the National Assembly and its agencies and deputies fulfill their duties. Chairman Hung said:“I hope the Institute will continue to gather more researchers in legislation, expand its operation, improve the quality of its staff and accelerate international integration. The Institute should become a center of legislation for the State and for Vietnamese and foreign researchers.”

Hung urged the Institute to finalize its plan to reform functions, tasks and operations. On the occasion, the Institute launched a portal to serve the information demands of National Assembly deputies.
