Highlighting the remarkable achievements made during the past term, General Secretary Lam said the country surmounted challenges with willpower, determination, and unity; maintained stability for development; and persistently rectified and improved to advance faster and more steadily.

In foreign affairs, the steadfast commitment to independence and self-reliance has helped Vietnam maintain a peaceful and stable environment, expand its development space, and enhance the country's position, he said.

Sharing his thoughts on the significance of the 14th National Party Congress, the General Secretary emphasized that each Party Congress is a momentous milestone, but the 14th Congress is of particular importance as it’s the time for Vietnam to unify its will and actions to move forward steadily. He outlined the upcoming Congress’s  three major points which are unity and trust; discipline and breakthroughs; and development for humans and with knowledge.

In his message to the Vietnamese people and the international community on the occasion of the New Year 2026, the Party leader expressed his deep gratitude for the trust, the sacrifices, and the affection that the Vietnamese people have shown each other and for the country during years of upheaval.

He wished every family a peaceful New Year and each person to ring in the new year with a simple goal: to do their work better, and to improve their lives day by day.

Vietnam always cherishes goodwill, trust, and cooperation, and wishes to work with countries, organizations, and people around the world to build an environment of peace, stability, cooperation, and mutual development, the General Secretary said.
