Libyan Defense Ministry headquarters attacked

(VOVworld) -  Gunmen attacked the Libyan Defense Ministry headquarters on Monday, killing one soldier and kidnapping 3 other people. The Libyan Defense Ministry said that the armed groups must be responsible for the bloodshed and destruction of public property and immediately leave the headquarters.

Gunmen also attacked the international airport in Tripoli

Gunmen also attacked the international airport in Tripoli and several major road junctions. Islamic armed groups, some of which are allied with the government, said their activities were aimed at repelling gunmen from the capital city in their campaign, known as the “Libya Dawn Islamist movement”. However,  the Libyan government declared the attacks illegal and urged officials not to direct the gunmen. In the latest development, the Libyan government has been considering calling on international forces to assist in re-establishing security to help the government exercise power, save civilians, and end the arnarchy.
