(VOVworld)-Local authorities nationwide greeted overseas Vietnamese who have returned home for the upcoming Lunar New Year festival.

At a program in Thai Nguyen province on Thursday, Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Vu Hong Bac extended New Year wishes to foreign businesses, non-governmental organizations, students, and expatriates living and working in the province.

He said Thai Nguyen appreciates the cooperation and assistance of the overseas Vietnamese community and foreign agencies and organizations which are operating in the province.

The same day, a get-together with overseas Vietnamese and their relatives was held in Quy Nhon City, Binh Dinh province.

Vice Secretary of the provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Ho Quoc Dung said he hopes OVs will unite and contribute more to national and local economic development.

Ba Ria – Vung Tau authorities also held a meeting with OVs who are in Vietnam for Tet holiday.
