(VOVWORLD) - The Prime Minister has directed localities and ministries to take emergency measures as Doksuri storm is forecast to make landfall in the central region late on Friday or early Saturday and is likely to strike coastal areas with level 9 to 15 winds.

The National Steering Committee on Disaster Prevention and Control, the National Committee for Search and Rescue, ministries, agencies, and localities have been asked to closely monitor the movement of the storm and implement appropriate response measures.
High-risk provinces like Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, Ha Tinh, Quang Binh, and Quang Tri are already carrying out measures to minimize possible losses.
Tran Viet Ha, Chairman of the People’s Committee of Thach Ha district, Ha Tinh province, said: “Our preparations have been completed. Because Doksuri is a powerful storm, we have asked all forces to keep a close watch on developments. We are calling on locals to quickly harvest the summer-autumn crop, protect houses, schools, and medical stations to minimize all possible damage.”
