(VOVWORLD) - Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh on Thursday requested localities to speed up COVID-19 vaccination rollout for children aged 12-18 so that they can soon go back to school.

At an online working session with leaders of 63 provinces and cities, Mr. Chinh said the COVID-19 pandemic remains complicated in Vietnam and around the world, and the Omicron variant is spreading fast while its virulence remains unknown.
He asked localities to measure the total expense for COVID-19 prevention and control this year and prepare resources for the fight against COVID-19 next year. Localities should also reopen the economy, safely adapt to and effectively control the pandemic, said the PM.
