(VOVworld)- Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung on Sunday attended the inauguration ceremony of a project on power supply to Ly Son island district using underground cable. Ly Son is the third island district in Vietnam accessing the national electricity grid after Co To and Phu Quoc. The underground cable is 27 km long. In his address, Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung praised the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Electricity Corporation in the central region and the Electricity of Vietnam as well as contractors, builders and engineers for their efforts to implement this project. The Prime Minister expressed his hope that Ly Son island district and Quang Ngai province in general will use the national power grid effectively in order to boost local development and contribute to defending national sovereignty over the seas and islands.
