(VOVWORLD) -China’s National Health Commission reported 17 new cases in mainland China on Sunday, the highest daily increase since April 28.
Seven of those were imported cases from Mongolia.
Wuhan, the epicentre of the outbreak in China, reported five new locally transmitted COVID-19 cases, the most since March 11. Meanwhile, the number of asymptomatic infections fell to 12 on Sunday, compared with 20 reported a day earlier.
As of May 10, the number of infections in mainland China was nearly 83,000 with more than 4,600 deaths.
