Major economic regions’ performance reviewed

(VOVWorld) - Participants at a meeting to discuss performance of Vietnam’s major economic regions have agreed that these regions are leading national socio-economic development. According to the Ministry of Planning and Investment, the average GDP of the 5 major economic zones over the past 5 years reached almost 11 percent. Their economic structures have been shifted towards industrialization and modernization to turn out more important products for the national development. The meeting, held in Can Tho on Saturday in the presence of Deputy Prime Minister Hoang Trung Hai also assessed agricultural and rural development; efforts to cope with climate change; and construction of seaside embankment and sea ports system.
