(VOVworld)- The central province of Nghe An held a meeting today to mark the anniversary of Party General Secretary Le Hong Phong’s 110th birth.

Party leader Nguyen Phu Trong, National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung, former National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Van An, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc were among the many other officials attending the event. In his opening address, Party leader Nguyen Phu Trong said that Party leader Le Hong Phong was one of President Ho Chi Minh’s most outstanding students, a staunch communist, a talented leader and an enthusiastic soldier with several communist and workers’ movements. He devoted his whole life to national independence and freedom. "Comrade Le Hong Phong devoted his whole life to the national revolution with twenty years of enthusiastic revolutionary activities. He was a shining example of revolutionary ethics, and love for family and homeland. Through his sacrifices for national independence, and freedom, he was loyal to the Party, the people, his comrades, and friends and was always optimistic about revolution being victories", said Party leader Trong .
Earlier, Party leader Nguyen Phu Trong led a Party and State delegation to lay a wreath at the Memorial House to Party General Secretary Le Hong Phong in Hung Thong commune, Nghe An province.
