Mask wearing made compulsory in Hanoi's public places as COVID-19 cases surge

(VOVWORLD) -Hanoi authority on Tuesday sent an official dispatch requesting strict implementation of the Ministry of Health’s guidance on mask wearing in public places for COVID-19 prevention and control, clarifying to who and where it is a must.

Passengers, drivers, and staff are requested to wear masks on public transportation vehicles. Wearing masks is also compulsory at supermarkets, malls, and wholesale markets, as well as  indoor places such as bars, discos, karaoke, beauty salons, gyms, restaurants, cinemas, theaters, circus rings, and gymnasiums.

Staff in offices for dossier receipt and transaction places must also wear masks when directly contacting customers.

The city’s authority requested relevant agencies to closely follow the pandemic situation, increase vaccination coverage, and intensify COVID-19 protection inspection of event organisers and service providers.
