(VOVworld) – A meeting with media agencies took place in Hanoi on Wednesday to celebrate the Vietnam – Cambodia Friendship Year.  The President of the Vietnam – Cambodia Friendship Association Vu Mao, said that over the last 45 years, the association has fulfilled its mission to boost bilateral ties in a practical manner. They include holding events between border provinces, helping veteran volunteers in difficulties, and raising funds for Cambodians in flood hit disaster areas. Addressing the meeting, Vu Mao said the Association’s achievements have been partly due to the contributions made by various media agencies. Mr. Mao says ‘The media plays an important role in announcing what the association is doing so people from both Vietnam and Cambodia can understand and contribute to enhancing the bilateral friendship. The media channels information to the people of both countries, so they need to contribute to make it better. We hope that the media will offer more suggestions as to how the association can do more to promote Vietnam and Cambodia’s friendship’.

The Vietnam Cambodia Friendship Association has also issued a special souvenir publication to mark the 45^th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two nations.
