Message of Vietnam’s responsibility to global mission

(VOVworld) – Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung’s speech at the 68th session of the UN General Assembly received great appreciation from all levels of Vietnam society. Colonel Vu Hong Khanh from the Institute for Defense Strategy under the Vietnamese Ministry of National Defense said Vietnam is ready to join the UN's peace keeping operations, which is a new responsibility of Vietnam People’s army. Joining the peacekeeping forces of the UN is a good opportunity for Vietnamese soldiers to have more practical experiences, to raise the knowledge of international laws, to coordinate well with multinational forces, and to approach with advanced military technology.

Talking about Vietnam’s achievements in poverty reduction mentioned in Prime Minister Dung’s speech at the UN General Assembly, Engineer Mai The Hao from the Livestock Department at the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development said that Vietnam’s national programs on poverty reduction have been highly evaluated by the international community. Hao said that Prime Minister Dung had sent a clear message showing Vietnam’s role and responsibility to the global mission.
