The most powerful earthquake in 80 years

137 deaths, about a half of the total number, were in Mexico City, the National Civil Protection System said Thursday. The number is expected to increase as the search for survivors goes on.

More than 500 soldiers and 200 police officers and volunteers have been working at the site of the worst damage.
