In this age, knowledge, creativity, and technology are the most vital productive resources, Minister Hung said at a forum on the future of science, technology and national digital transformation in Hanoi on Friday.

He emphasized that science and technology, innovation, and digital transformation are the three development pillars. Among them, science and technology provide the foundation, generating knowledge and new tools. Innovation is the driving force, transforming those tools and knowledge into ideas and solutions to address socio-economic challenges, Minister Hung said.

Digital transformation creates the digital environment and digital tools that turn innovative ideas and solutions into products, services and business models, making them widely accessible and delivering real value to socio-economic development," he added.

Participants suggested that Vietnam prioritize solutions such as improving  institutions, encouraging private investment in R&D, developing human resources with the target of 12 researchers per 10,000 people by 2030. Vietnam also needs to invest in modern scientific and technological infrastructure and focus on strategic technologies that drive breakthrough development.
