MOLISA introduces 2013 targets

(VOV) – The Ministry of Labor, War Invalids, and Social Affairs held an online conference today to launch activities for the year. At the event, Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung complimented the sector’s achievements in the past year, which contributed significantly to the nation’s socio-economic growth.

The PM asks for more support to those who render services to the nation. Dung agreed with the goals set for this year- generating 1.6 million jobs, increasing the number of social insurance holders to 11.1 million people, providing vocational training to 1.9 million people, and ensuring that 98.5% of social beneficiary households to have equal or higher living standard, and reducing the national poverty rate by 2% - 4% in the poorest districts. The sector is determined to offer prompt assistance to victims of natural disasters, guarantee children’s rights, and create a safe and healthy environment for children.

Prime Minister Dung asked the Ministry to continue to strengthen its governance ability and efficiency in labor, war invalids, and social affairs. In addition, he said, the sector needs effective measures to assist poor households living near the poverty line to prevent them from falling back into poverty, and to implement policies on vocational training and job generation, especially for rural laborers.

The Prime Minister urged support for individuals who have rendered service to for the nation, ensuring that none is deprived of Party and State incentives, and called for continued efforts to collect the remains of volunteer soldiers who died on duty in Laos and Cambodia. The sector was asked to tighten its management of foreign workers in Vietnam and Vietnamese workers sent abroad, selecting suitable markets to ensure them adequate income.
