The document said that Montenegro’s NATO membership is a historic decision, not only for Montenegro but also for NATO. On May 19th, NATO and Montenegrin Prime Minister Milo Djukanovic signed a protocol on Montenegro’s accession to the alliance, paving the way for the Balkan country to become the 29th member of the military alliance. But, NATO said, it needs 18 months to ratify the agreement.
